Tillingbourne Accordion Orchestra

The Tillingbourne Accordion Orchestra (then known as the Tillingbourne Accordion Band) was founded in 1988, meeting for rehearsals in Albury village hall. In 1992 it moved to its present venue In the annexe to Ripley Village Hall, where it still meets on Tuesday evenings at 8.00pm and potential players are welcome. In April 1990 the Orchestra founded the Guildford Accordion Club, open to all comers, both players and non-players, which meets on the third Friday of each month in the main Village Hall at Ripley. Since its foundation 17 years ago the Orchestra has played at many places, often for Charity, Nursing Homes and Elderly Peoples functions, but also for public concerts and at a wide spread of locations in the Surrey / West London Area. The Director at the Orchestra inception was Mike Naido, who was followed by Pete Denman and then a number of others, culminating with the present incumbent, Phil Wheeler. The Orchestra is available to meet requests for any performance venue, large or small.
