Welcome To Guildford Accordion Club

Guildford Accordion Club meets at 7.30pm on the third Friday of every month.

Due to Ripley Village Hall being unavailable we will be meeting for the foreseeable future at Cobham Village Hall:

Cobham Village Hall
Lushington Drive
Cobham
KT11 2LU

Each evening starts with a “playalong” from sheet music for accordionists of mixed ability, which is not only enjoyable for the performers, but also improves one’s sight-reading ability.

During the evening, there is an opportunity for individuals to perform solos or duets or small ensembles, which helps to develop one’s confidence playing in front of an audience. Several times a year, guest artists are invited to perform.

The club, which was formed in April 1990, now has a membership of over 130. This includes a number of people who do not play but like to come along and listen.

The club welcomes enthusiasts of the accordion in all its forms, whether they be complete beginners or seasoned professionals. Most of us are somewhere in-between! While the piano accordion is the instrument played by most members, button accordions, bandoneons, concertinas and other instruments are represented too.

Light refreshments are included in the very reasonable admission price.

Club evenings come in two types:

Members Evenings, where we play along to popular tunes and entertain each other in an informal setting; and

Guest Evenings, when we can sit back and enjoy the performances of well-known accordionists from all over the world. Over the years we have had guests from Russia, China, Italy, France, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Finland, Canada, etc, plus many fine players from all over England.
